About Buttered & Baked
Buttered and Baked was born from my love for baking and the need to support my education. As I work towards earning my Master's degree, this bakery allows me to share indulgent, comforting, desserts that bring a little extra sweetness to your day. My goal is to create treats that turn any occasion into something special while continuing my journey.
Our Approach to Desserts
In Merida, desserts are often lighter and not the focal point of events, which is quite different from the decadent desserts typically seen in the U.S. At Buttered and Baked, I aim to bring that richness and excitement to the table, The bakery operates for about six months of each year, and I'm always open to exploring new recipes and accommodating special requests, including gluten-free options or any flavors you may be craving.
Community & Connection
Community is a big part of what drives me. As an expat, I know how important it is to find a sense of connection, especially through familiar comforts like food. That's why I'm proud to be involved with the Black Merida Experience, offering a taste of home at events that bring people together. It's all about sharing joy and making connections.
The idea for Buttered and Baked started with a simple family gathering. After my famous lemon & blueberry cupcakes were a bit hit, I realized I could turn my passion into something that could reach beyond my family and friends. What started as a personal hobby has grown into a way to merge my love of baking with my goals and aspirations.
